1. Lotus Feet - China
Hundreds of years ago, there was a ritual to be performed by women in China. Women are forced to wear shoes that are very small and taper-tipped, in order to get the desired shape of the foot or 'Lotus Feet'. In the past, this type of leg was considered the standard of beauty coveted in China.
The ritual was later banned by Mao Zedong, china's communist leader and founder of the People's Republic of China in 1950, because it was deemed incompatible with modern life in China. However, some women who are forced to undergo the beauty ritual are still alive with Lotus Feet to this day.
2. Ikipalin - West Papua
According to news.com.au, the women from Dani Tribe, West Papua, Indonesia, have a ritual called Ikipalin. Following this ritual, they will cut off the top of each other's fingers.

While in Mauritania, North Africa, there is a ritual called leblouh or gavage that forces young women to eat. The goal is to attract the attention of men, because obesity in women is considered attractive in areas often hit by drought.
According to the report, women even six years old will be forced to drink up to 20 liters of milk, two cups of butter, as well as at least two kg of millet (a type of cereal) each school holiday.
